The only industrial site of its kind in Europe, Tricastin covers an area of 650 hectares across 3 districts, 2 departments and 2 regions. AREVA’s Tricastin facilities are part of the Front End business group. Areas of expertise include uranium conversion and enrichment and production of nuclear fuel assemblies.

Spanning an area of 650 hectares, the Tricastin site extends through the districts of Bollène, Pierrelatte, and Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux to the Drôme and Vaucluse department borders. Key figures:

  • More than 2,500 employees, 35% of whom are residents of surrounding communities (Pierrelatte, Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, Bollène, Lapalud, Mondragon, and Bourg-Saint-Andéol)
  • 2000 jobs created at other companies

For over 40 years, AREVA group companies and employees have been developing expertise in chemistry and uranium conversion and enrichment. To meet the growing demands of its utility customers around the world, New AREVA decided to invest over 4.5 billion euros in this site.

The plants Georges Besse II, COMURHEX II and other major projects will upgrade and modernize the industrial facilities to ensure the region's future prosperity.
